Barn conversion in small East Yorkshire village.
Etton is a small linear village north of Beverley which has lost many of its farm buildings in favour of residential dwellings.
The owners of the barns in Etton required a design which left their current dwelling intact whilst converting the large outbuildings into a new home. The new dwelling would share the access road to the original house. The original barn was rectangular in form and required the addition of a new perpendicular element to take full advantage of the views along the site and garden towards the Yorkshire Wolds.
The final design created an interesting new home with large areas of full height space and traditional features blended into a contemporary architectural form.
