Remodelling of traditional cottage with contemporary extension.
The village of Kilnwick is is situated in the Yorkshire Wolds approximately 5 miles south of Driffield. The clients’ dwelling is a small cottage in the heart of the rural village.
The owners of the dwelling had very clear ideas that they wanted a contemporary extension to their traditional home with a large glazed screen to the rear overlooking their garden. In addition, they also required the views from the first floor to be retained in a specific direction to maximise the homeworking experience.
The large glazed screen and oblique wall to the rear of the dwelling create an interesting and stimulating design which make this project unique in the village of Kilnwick.
