Westcote Farm
South Cave, East Yorkshire

The village of South Cave has long provided a good location for people wishing to gain commuter access to the A63 and cities beyond.  Westcote Farm was a group of redundant farm buildings with the notoriously unpredictable South Cave Beck bisecting the site in a culvert.

The site is located in the Conservation Area and part of it attracted a degree of attention “The site contains some former outbuildings in a very poor state of repair, one of them being of particular interest as a former dovecote in Wold stone. This building is to be restored and retained as part of plot 8 which, if converted sympathetically, would form a positive contribution to the character of the development.”

The design of dwellings varied from curved cloaked-stone cottages lining a restored and open South Cave Beck to a range of larger double fronted brick homes. This has created a highly visual and interesting development which complements and enhances the Conservation Area and is a credit to the quality and attention to detail of the build by the client.
