Mere View Meadows is a 2.74 hectare site, wedged between Hull Road and the line of the old Hull-to-Hornsea Railway Line, overlooking Hornsea Mere, the largest freshwater lake in Yorkshire and the most recognisable feature in the area.
The proposed development of 60 new homes is located on the site of The City of Wakefield Holiday School, a former educational facility built in the 1940s, later to be renamed the Hornsea Centre. The school was closed many years ago and allocated in the new East Riding Local Plan for a new care home and housing.
The design of the new homes has relied on detail, proportion, asymmetry and materials to create a product which purchasers feel comfortable to buy and live in for the years ahead.
